Airfix Vintage Classics Commonwealth CA-13 Boomerang 1:72 WWII Military Aviation Plastic Model Kit

The Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation Boomerang, often described as 'Australia's panic fighter', was a decision made in the wake of continued Japanese aggression in the Pacific and the need to ensure a continuous future supply of new fighters for the RAAF. By using many sections and components from existing aircraft types under construction in Australia, the first Boomerang was produced just sixteen weeks after the original design decision was made, and 250 of these diminutive fighters would eventually be produced. Possessing excellent low altitude performance, the Boomerang would often be used to mark targets for ground attack Corsairs during the latter stages of WWII, a role which earned the distinctive little aircraft the nickname 'Smoky Joe'.

Airfix, the oldest UK manufacturer of scale model plastic kits, has been producing kits for the mass market since 1952. Airfix produces a wide range of kits aimed at all types of scale modelers, with subjects such as military aircraft, ships, space, cars, dioramas, and military vehicles. The boxes feature original paintings by an impressive range of artists, and since the early 1950s, Airfix has produced hundreds of fantastic models across many different categories, with the majority of these tools still existing, and using these tools are how the Vintage Classics are made.

The completed kit dimensions are length 10.7 cm x width 15.2 cm x height 4.06 cm, with a total of 31 pieces, making it a great plastic model kit for the beginner or intermediate modeler. While many of these models are a little more challenging for today's modelers, that's part of the fun of this brilliant hobby. With some wonderful "only produced by Airfix" items to come, the excitement's really building!

The skill level for this kit is 1, and painting and assembly are required. Paints and glue need to be purchased separately, with Humbrol paints needed to complete the liveries, and these are listed on the outside of the box.
